Rick Curtis, Founder
The science of safety is constantly evolving with new approaches challenging long held assumptions about why incidents happen and what makes a program safe. Keeping up with these new insights is a daunting task. Few people are as adept as Steve Smith in translating these new methodologies into practical applications for the outdoor industry. Steve serves as your guide to the evolution of risk management theories with real-world examples and case studies that show how the field of safety science has evolved, and how we need to evolve in order to bring a culture of ethical safety to our organizations. I continue to learn and expand my own safety horizons through Steve's work.
